I appreciate the good work done in this Lemmy.

The part of this that I find hardest to believe is that it has taken this long, and only come back at him twice thrice.

“Someone is stirred to violence by the loud angry man who constantly spews loud angry rhetoric” is a relatively easy prediction.

There was at least one I know of in 2016, a 20 year old British guy in Vegas tried to grab a cop’s gun at a rally. He was in prison for a year and then got sent back to the UK

I feel like if they were gonna stage these attenpts, they would have cast an immigrant or LGBTQ+ individual for the role of would-be assassin. These two were just gun nuts disillusioned by Trump’s failures and riled up by his own rhetoric. That’s why he’s struggling to paint this as somebody else’s fault.

If I remember correctly the first one looked at dates of trumps and biden events. I feel he was just a crazy that wanted to make a name for himself.

Is this some conspiracy theory or can you supply credible sources?

Fediverse vs Disinformation

!fediverse_vs_disinfo@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Create post

Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.

Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.

What’s the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.

By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.
