Pic related. When I was a kid I was walking with my mom along the road just down the street by a treeline and tied to one of the trees by it’s neck was a baby doll.
Very unnerving.
We never found who did it or why.
Years later I was out with my mom again in another part of the woods and she swore she saw something that looked humanoid and albino, like all white. It scared her enough that she wanted to leave right then.
Still think about both of these from time to time.

Back when I was eleven, I was staring into the thicket because It was the style at the time
I remember my dad walked up and asked me what I was doing and i said “I think I saw something moving around in there” and he just flatly says “Don’t let them see you’re looking” and walks away
He meant there were probably some people fuckin in there, but my brain at the time convinced me there was some horror that my family knew about and kept as some sort of terrible family secret
Like at some point, my dad would be like “Now son, it’s time I told you about El Cucuy and how he lives on our farm” or something
I don’t think I ever experienced such existential horror up until that point or ever since
I was playing tag or something in the woods behind my neighborhood at night. Someone flashed a huge spotlight on us, started yelling they were the cops and they were going to set a dog on us. We figured it was some hoa-brained neighbor and left because we didn’t want trouble. Nope. It was a cop. Fucker rolled up on us and told a bunch of children if he caught us playing outdoors at night again he’d set an attack dog on us.
Upper middile income white neighborhood. White kids. Even with white privilege you’re never really safe. The monster was going to set a fucking dog on us for playing outside.
buddy of mine was doing ding dong ditch as a kid and a homeowner chased him down the street back to his house. my friend could see a flashlight bobbing as the guy was following him and just assumed it was a regular flashlight but when he got to his door and turned around he saw it was a flashlight attachment on the guy’s pistol. that dude was a cop too.
10 minutes after my ex proposed to me we found a deer spine sticking out of a river like some kind of meat sail.
shrugs severely We sold the spine on Etsy for 200$, then bought 200$ of acid and flipped that. It was def “gud times”

Probably foxes or a fox and something else in a fight did it, but just coming across a rabbit ripped up and apart about a clearing on an otherwise bright and sunny day was weird. Didn’t seem to have eaten much of it, just left stewn all over. Relatively fresh. Turkey vultures found it by the time I was heading back that way so it was mostly cleaned up.
Other one was when I was camping in a state park with friends. We took mushrooms and two of us went to get more firewood from a guy selling it in his yard down the road. Part of the road ran along a rocky ledge, ~10ft higher than the road, and there was a car with its hazards on and nobody around when we called as we approached, and then as we get closer we see there’s just a deer embedded in the roof of the car, like it jumped off the ledge and just landed on the car. No resolution to that one, was still there on the way back and gone by morning.

On a run once I found a bunch of wooden sculptures of animals covering half a mile of trail. It wasn’t too far out of town but it was kind of a foggy fall day so it was spooky.
On another run I came upon an electric corridor. There was a camper in it with smashed in windows and blood stains around the windows.
I met a hermit once when I was hunting as a kid. We were in an unincorporated area with about sixty residents so it was genuinely the middle of nowhere. I got lost in the woods and so I just went straight in one direction until I hit a road. Ran into the hermit on the road and he told me not to shoot his cats. He had no cats.
The scariest was one night I was going camping on a trail I had been on dozens of times. I found a good spot to go off trail and set up and a little ways in I found a plywood shack just filled with garbage that had writing all over the walls.
