Rep. Nancy Pelosi chided CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Tuesday for bringing up Donald Trump’s latest baseless smear of Vice President Kamala Harris regarding her acuity.

She’s right. Giving airtime to an incompetent blowhard talking out his ass is the infuriating norm that is killing the US. “But he’s the nominee”. Fuck off you sellout. Have some integrity.

Good for her. The standard response from any Democrat should be, “I’ll respond to his points when he makes one. I’m not responding to his baseless, slanderous remarks.”

“sorry I don’t give rapists my attention.”

“I stopped listening to Trump when he went into a private meeting with Putin without notes or translators.”

“Of course the GOP is going to attack Harris, the only thing they can do is drag them down, there’s nothing the GOP can do to build up their platform because it’s built on hair spray and orange paint.”

Listen, Pelosi is just as much a ghoul as most of Congress, but she’s absolutely right here. The media keeps ignoring their responsibilities as much as Congress has ceded its responsibilities to the executive branch. The Supreme Court and Presidency seem to be the only “estates” flexing any of their power and the US does everything it can to get morally reprehensible tools into those positions.

Tapper looks like Trump talking about Jan 6 or the death of Rowe v. Wade shielding himself from blame by saying “He’s the nominee, I thought you might have a reaction.”

What is CNN a fucking YouTube channel now? Are you doing a podcast Jake? Fuck off you corporate shill. Go hang out with Joe Rogan.

Disgraceful.

Jake Tapper is a fool reading what he was told to. Not a journalist or reporter. CNN has been captured by the right.

Now Taper’s lies are suddenly an issue for her?

If the Dem party had stood up for Talib when he did the same thing to her. He might not have done this

That’s funny. The Democratic Party standing up for a progressive.

No need to stand up for progressives when you got people like Dick Cheney on your side.

No willingness to stand up for progressives, regardless of who is on their side.

That was a bit different though - Tapper quickly apologized (see https://adc.org/demand-cnn-jake-tapper-and-dana-bash-apologize-for-false-attacks-on-rep-rashida-tlaib/ & https://www.commondreams.org/news/rashida-tlaib-false-allegations )

It is a bit tough to see though - Dems stick together in opposing the GOP, but when we see a fight between two Dems they try to avoid getting involved (as per https://www.mediaite.com/news/watch-gov-whitmer-completely-dodges-when-confronted-by-jake-tapper-about-whether-rep-tlaib-made-an-anti-semitic-smear-against-michigans-ag/ )

Though I also understand why Whitmer wouldn’t directly speak out. Nessel is under Whitmer, so Whitmer would be publically criticising her own subordinate. But, this wouldn’t apply to Pelosi… the best I can say about that is the issue with Nessel was just elow Pelosi’s radar.
