Which made no functional difference, as elections are today and Musk didn’t stop doing the lottery during the case.

They can still penalize him and the PAC, make an example of him for next time around, etc. The election being over doesn’t mean Elon’s suddenly in the clear and the legal action is dropped. No different than if Trump loses and ends up back in court again for all the lawsuits he can’t delay any longer for election reasons.
