Baldur’s Gate 3 has already sold over 5.2 million units on Steam alone, not counting GOG, according to the Belgian Embassy.

@geosoco Make good game, don’t do shitty monetization and deliver a “normal bug free” game, equals to success.

Yeah it has some bugs but they’ve been fixing them rapidly and most of them are pretty minor. I’ve had the day 1 save bug, a black screen entering a big map, and occasionally voice line don’t play. That’s about it. Very good quality.

It’s definitely not bug free, especially in multiplayer.

Yes, it’s certainly not bug free, there are bugs that need to be fixed. Worst persistent one I’ve had is that a Warlock 4/Sorcerer 8 multiclass I have always tries to upcast all warlock spells (like Hex or Misty Step) with their highest level slot, which are Sorcerer spell slots. Very annoying and not worth.

That said, I would not discourage anyone from getting this game on the basis that it has some bugs. I doubt most new players would know how deal with multiclassing bugs, and probably would be multiclassing in the first place.

Haha sorry, I said multiplayer not multiclassing. Haven’t done any of the latter yet so can’t comment on the bugs there. But in multiplayer some major storylines are bugged, along with some other weird jank.

No big software project can ever be fully free of bugs. Apparently it’s not all jank all the time.

My experience has been pretty jank most of the time. Visual and dialogue bugs every play session. And one major NPC’s storyline is completely softlocked.

Why the fuck is the Belgian embassy chiming in? Don’t get me wrong, I love that they are, but wtf?

Hyping up your nation’s commercial achievements is one of the more common diplomatic functions.

I have a college friend who worked for the British consulate in San Francisco as a sort of “startup consultant” in Silicon Valley, promotion British startups, British products, and trying to find jobs for British academics.
