I followed @TheAnonymouseJoker@lemmy.ml’s rootless android privacy guide. It’s been good so far, but I’m considering rooting my phone so I can do more with it. However, there aren’t any OSes like lineage or calyx that work with my phone (oneplus 11). Are there any risks or benefits I need to consider when deciding if rooting my phone is a good decision?

Rooting your phone will open it to vulnerabilities. Depending on the phone, rooting can also mean the loss of banking apps and Google pay.

I got another phone. One for normie stuff and leave at home when I’m not doing normie things. get a box with aluminum foil around it and test to see if it can recieve calls. If it can’t recieve calls, you made a proper faraday cage to stop Google from sending the data to Palintir and beyond.
