I’m probably going to get hate for this but please watch the video till the end and make your own judgement before making any reactionary comments.
If your belief system predicates on the non-existence or ostracizing of an entire group of humans, you can dress up those beliefs in all the tollerant language you want, but you’re still a bigot. This is the fundamental flaw in this argument, using “protecting the children” like it’s their children they’re worried about, not all the children they -don’t- control who see the diversity in humanity and then force their children to eventually come to terms with why they were sheltered from the vast and varied human experience. You cower and dance around the bush because you -know- what you preach is the very evil you claim to be pushed onto you: you claim Christians are being ostracized, ousted, and belittled, but that’s projection to the highest degree. I have felt no hate like Christian love, and I was born and raised in an active church community.
I can’t speak about your experience as a Christian and neither can I speak about that as I’m not one myself obviously. But shoving down gay stuff to my kids will affect them mentally and psychologically. It’s proven by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services that gay parents are significantly more like to sexually abuse their kids than straight ones. https://sci-hub.st/10.2466/pr0.96.1.227-230
I do not care what your kids do or do not see. That is your job. But likewise, you do not get a say in what other people deem acceptable for their children within the letter of the law. You decry that we are after “your children.” We are not. You are forcing your political, religious, and ideological views on OUR children as you did to us when we were children, and as such I only see the projection in your words.
But you get to have a say on what is acceptable and what is not? Isn’t the point of democracy that society dictates what is acceptable and what is not? If the majority dictate that LGBT is moral or immoral, then shouldn’t you accept the result of that. Throughout history, homosexuality has been a sin and it still is because we can see the consequences of it manifested in this day and age.
I “watched the video till the end” so you don’t have to.
24 seconds in: Has already put forth an incredibly ignorant opinion as if it were fact.
[Big gap here where he lists the history of the LGBT movement with the occasional nonsensical opinion passed in that isn’t discussed because he knows it made no sense, e.g. he points out the one positive Republican contribution explicitly while ignoring the fact every oppressive action he listed was Republican lead)]
12 minutes in: Soros conspiracy time? Seriously? I should be used to this bollocks by now but it still creeps up on me.
15 minutes in: Abuse of the fact the average viewer doesn’t understand how statistics work to insist “black people are homophobic”.
17 minutes in: He pulls up a Malcolm X quote criticising liberals, with the intent to either make conservatives think Malcolm X supported them, or to enrage liberals against them. Either way it seems to have nothing to do with the video, it’s just there to provoke general outrage because he immediately moves on and doesn’t discuss it at all.
18 minutes in: His “evidence” that “being gay is a modern thing” is: because older generations show lower rates of being gay and it can’t be that they’re “closeted” or in denial because “older people don’t care what you think and would tell everyone”. Apparently insecurities and self repression from decades of negative influence aren’t a thing in old people, I guess?
19:30 moment: Calls himself courageous for making the video lmao
20:00 moment: Implies straight people are being “abused” because wahwah, poor oppressive group!
The rest is outro.
In conclusion: It’s exactly what you’d expect. Another piece of homophobic garbage made to take advantage of people who were never taught critical thinking skills to push an oppressive agenda.
Hope that saved you guys 22 minutes of your day. I wish I could have mine back.
