Hey buddy,
After reviewing the situation between myself and the admin team, we have decided that the actions taken by the mod in question do not align with how we expect moderators in particular to conduct themselves in the wider fediverse. We will be taking action against the user in question and locking this thread. For any additional concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to me either here or on Matrix.
This kind of organization doesn’t really work, you cant just set a day without a strong organized backing
Lemm.ee servers are not hosted in the US and therefore not subject to US jurisdiction.
As others have pointed out, information on Lemm.ee-your posts, comments, profile info, etc. are both public, and federated with American instances.
What information you consider sensitive is dependent on your circumstances and your threat model, but generally I would avoid posting anything you deem sensitive to lemm.ee, due to the public nature of federated media.
Ah I see what happened here.
We go through our applications manually, and part of that application process explicitly states “Please say you agree to our instance rules found in the sidebar of the front page”
“Lemmy in” applications are assumed bots and get auto denied.
I DM’d you to take some further action to see if we can get your desired username.
