Hopefully more people will realize the problems their facing come from the same source. Can’t afford rent or mortgage? It’s because oligarchs are control the property. Can’t afford groceries? Oligarchs control all the food. Your wages aren’t keeping up with inflation? Oligarchs pay your wage. The problem is we’ve allowed a few hundred people to hoard the majority of our resources. This won’t change until the general public is pushing it as an issue.

This guy doesn’t want the government to be involved in his family life but also wants courts to recognize he is the legal father of the child?

A “Negotiable Instrument” is basically a cheque. It’s a peice of paper instructing a bank to pay a certain person a certain amount of money from a certain account at a certain date. It’s negotiable if the person who can get the money is transferrable. Ex. I write you a cheque for $50 and you sign it over to your friend. Your friend can now cash the cheque and my bank will pay your friend $50 from my account.

Here’s a sample bill I found online from an electrical company. The SovCiv is asking if the bottom part is actually a cheque they can cash. It’s just a peice of paper they can mail back to the company that contains all their account information in one spot to make processing payments easier for the company. It might also allow the person to pay their bill through their bank’s bill payment service. Essentially, the bank will use the details on that slip of paper to send money to the company directly from the person’s account.

Poilievre shook hands with a far-right group leader who said he’d rape Poilievre’s wife. I don’t think there’s a group this guy wouldn’t be seen with. Well, maybe First Nation leaders, since Poilievre once said they need to stop asking for government handouts and get a job.

I’m guessing these are all oil field workers who would have had the same training.

Lawyers are one of the few workers who get paid proportionally to the value they produce. It’s just that the value they produce has grown exponentially high since they represent people and corporations with ridiculous sums of money.

A good example is the case where Elon Musk sued the law firm that the former Twitter owners used to force Musk into buying Twitter. Musk argued that the $90 million payment to the law firm was way too much money. The law firm argued the deal was worth $44 billion, making their payment just 0.2% of the value they created for their client. Courts agreed the law firm did not overcharge.

If each worker for Amazon got paid 0.2% of Amazon’s yearly revenue, they’d all make over $1 million a year. The problem is they have so many employees that Amazon can’t actually give each of them 0.2%.

Another example is the two Trump defamation cases. The first case was put on hold because he was president. The second case was after he was no longer president. Courts eventually ruled both cases could proceed, so it was a rare time when someone got tried for the same thing twice. Trump used two different lawyers when arguing these cases. One case resulted in a $5 million decision and the other resulted in an $83.3 million decision. It’s a great example of the value of a good lawyer. These cases were identical except for Trump’s lawyer. One lawyer can generate $78.3 million in value. It’s hard to find any other profession where a single person can generate that much value in a few months.
