Nah, definitely NTA. A little dismissive, and definitely seems like they expected sympathy, but by making accusations against you over “what the crap you do with that coffee”, it sets you up to be in a defensive position to reply.

I guess be a little more mindful to only give sympathy and not an explanation in the future, and they need to learn to chill a bit.

That’s super good to know the 250s also work without a dac! I was worried so I opted for the 80s, but I just use them for gaming mostly

There is an 80 ohm version and a 250 ohm version. Make sure to get the 80 ohm if you don’t want to use a dac.

But seconding these. I have some 80 ohm ones and use a Sound Blaster Play!3 usb dac I got for $25, and I think they sound great. Smore importantly for my use, they are very comfortable to wear for long periods while wearing glasses.

Yeah, intentionally making a service or product worse to force feed obtrusive ads isn’t the only way companies can make money from it. Once they start doing that it becomes an ad platform that sometimes offers a service, rather than a service that has ads.

Those weren’t any of the points that I brought up. And are poor arguments against telling people their options.

It shouldn’t be pushed on people, but it should be talked about to give people more choice and agency in their home computing.

“I bet this would look better in landscape, let me just turn my phone.” Phone refuses to orient properly, no matter how hard I try to shake it.

“Let me just browse Lemmy while I lay in bed on my side.” No matter how I orient the phone, it will be sure to change screen orientation as soon as I adjust to reading it that way.

He’s also so awkward, if you just put headphones on and ignored/pretended not to hear him, he’d just give up and leave you alone.
