Lawful- Neutral renter reporting in:

  • Fresh paint and a lot of putty hide a lot of sins
  • Magic erasers ARE magic
  • Home improvement stores just like sell door trim, hardware, etc and they’ll color match paint
  • Most post-inspectors are looking for egregious issues or evidence of a bad fix/cleanup. That’s now your threshold for quality

I fixed an entire doorframe trim and drywall after the back door got kicked in - paint and putty are your friends

Like others have said, the war ‘locked in’ perceptions but there were years of supply shortages and government rationing of foodstuffs afterwards, ending in the early 50s.

Cookbooks were re-written at the time to emphasize economic meals like stews and soups that used a lot of vegetables you can grow in the garden and to use up scraps. Potatoes, leeks, and cabbage grew to feature much more heavily, meat was OUT as was sugar and most fruit… You try working varied and fun meals with those limits

So combined with the more ‘bland’ cuisine of the era and extensive rationing limitations, generations of households got used to cooking and eating the basic foods. Immigration and globalization has broadened the modern offerings, but the British classics’ are undeniably under spiced shades of grey and brown.

Might be irrelevant given the latest on Biden dropping maybe, but this is still the official line:_

“no voting will begin before August 1.” They add that the vote is set to happen before the in-person Democratic National Convention that starts Aug. 19

They’ve now explained the nuance and reasoning, which does change things a fair bit

In June, Ohio passed a bill to move its deadline from Aug. 7 to Sept. 1. But because that law technically does not take effect until Sept. 1, the DNC said they are keeping their timeline of a pre-convention virtual roll call in place due to concern of litigation. Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose suggested earlier this month that Sept. 1 deadline to certify a candidate would stand.

White House physicians are basically captured medical professionals - they get INSANE access to not just the office, but a lot of the entourage and hangers-on. Yeah you can say no, but it’s a very competitive and prestigious posting that has no shortage of applicants.

O’Connor came back after being Biden’s VP doctor, and has… conflicting interests when it comes to giving medical advice that might make his role redundant

Edit: There’s some legalese that the DNC is shook about, so fair enough to be worried about Republicans and election shenanigans.

If his plans aren’t enough for your tastes, organize and do better. Inspire others around you.

This would be a valid point, if the DNC wasn’t trying to force a primary confirmation vote early, in order to ‘lock in’ Biden. Despite Biden welcoming challengers to make a play to delegates at the convention.

I.e. “actively prevented from doing so”

It’s not helping. We aren’t going to get a “deus ex machina” moment on righting damage done to the environment. Yes focus on the bigger goals and pollution sources, but this is a trend in the wrong way to enlarge Elon’s money pile.

Yes, the rocket is reusable. The fuel is not, and by lowering the cost per kg of space freight, it has driven more usage of rockets. Which use non-renewable fuel at astounding rates and make huge emissions for a minor payload total.

We’re seeing extreme temperatures and unseasonal weather events already - James Webb is cool and the ISS does need service missions but Starlink is just more orbital trash waiting to happen.

Look at the timing - Jan 20th, 2021. The day Biden was sworn in.

$15 is not much and could very well be him delivering on a bet over the election

Abdul Qadeer Khan’s network fueled both Pakistan’s, and multiple other countries nuclear ambitions. Pakistan deffo has nukes, and very likely helped Iran and North Korea on their path to the same.
