The best part is they told them they have X amount of time to spend the coins, but whatever they buy disappears anyway!

I think the influence on Reddit was deeper than a lot of people have considered. The hivemind was so strong it made it difficult to have decent and useful discussion, even the puns that muddied down nearly every postβs comments achieved that end. The amount of posts Iβve seen of people feeling much more comfortable actually interacting on Lemmy, in my mind, lends weight to how Reddit wasnβt a place for objective dialogue. Thatβs why it felt so adolescent, like sitting at a high school lunch table.
A person who otherwise wouldnβt be noticed suddenly getting attention they never received thrown at them can easily abuse it if they donβt control their behavior with a moral compass, which is becoming less and less a priority. When something feels good, many indulge. When you overindulge, you justify. When you get good at justifying, you can make anything okay in your head. If you donβt have a line drawn, itβs wild how far people will goβ¦ he went way too far and he should endure the consequences.
How donβt these fuckwits realize this place doesnβt want them? Stay over in the trash heap where you belong.
One of the last messages from the developer of Sync had said they were considering making a Sync for Lemmyβ¦ The guyβs attention to detail and customizability of Sync for Reddit has me hoping real hard for that.
