I feel like Reddit is a big basket of candy and goodies and I’m just sitting here staring at it telling myself not to touch. I’ve spent the time away by listening to podcasts and spending more time outside gardening and reading actual books and not a screen. It’s really rewarding and freeing, but I miss interacting with a community so I’m glad to have been directed to Lemmy.
I think I’ll be checking back to look at all my subscribed subs, write them down, and bookmark certain webpages and when RIF goes down, I have a great start for things to look for on here. Gotta keep going forward.
Haha! Love the description of him after the quote!
This shit would drive me nuts. My friends and I would send each other links we found on Reddit through messenger or text and when I would get one, it would take me to a blurred view of the page and tell me to view it on their app. I would back right out, go on RedditIsFun, and search the title of the post there. To stop this from happening to people I sent to, I’d just take a screenshot of the meme and send it in a group chat and say I saw it on r/whatever. If you force me to use your broken shit, I’ll send that meme in a fax out of spite if I have to.
The comments/replies to my comments that really chapped my ass were when someone was defending ads and trying to claim they didn’t even know there were third party apps and we were just being babies. I don’t want to have to watch two unskippable ads like YouTube just to see a meme or comment in an AskReddit or be bombarded with gas pill ads between every front page post because I typed “why am I farting more than normal?” In a toolbar five years ago, and I’m not being a baby because I don’t want to give up my working product for a shit alternative that turns me into a product. I feel like Reddit is Pied Piper from ‘Silicon Valley’ where they hired a shit load of trolls in an office in New Delhi to gaslight us and drive up support for a highly disliked business path.
If these dumbasses have enough money to drop on a ticket aboard this sub to look at something you can see on a documentary, they should also have to foot the bill for the rescue mission. I’m sure all these rescue programs are tax funded that they dodge themselves. So, not only are they squirreling and eating up money we could all be using, but now we’re picking up the check.
