To some extent I think you can do most of that on Lemmy.
You can upload images for your posts (not sure for short videos) and cross-post them to other communities.
Not that it matters but a more accurate title in french would be : “Tartelette aux fruits rouges”
Tartelette = Petite Tarte
Aux is better here because it is made of multiple fruits.
Pour ma santé mentale j’ai décidé de faire une grosse pause des journaux d’information télévisés.
Du coup ça me va très bien de pas avoir en particulier les faits divers et surtout pas l’équivalent des commentaires YT sur ceux-ci.
This is an article from 2020 and I’m fairly sure it didn’t happen.
Honestly, reading the comments of some out there regarding this issue. I’m starting to think that they did the right choice.
It doesn’t take long to find fairly rude or insulting content regarding this.
Most people have no reason to care if a small instance decided to sail away.
It’s disappointing because I think this platform is already turning into reddit in term of tone/aggressiveness.
And it’s not even just comments, it’s upvoting memes that are genuinely rude or targeting a specific community. I don’t like the way this is going.
A few of mine :
- AndOTP : A good app for OTP that actually let’s you backup your keys and move them easily and securely to a new phone
- Blokada : A system wide adblocker for Android. 4000000 ads blocked so far on my phone
- YouTube Vanced: Not really a “hidden” gem but a cool app nonetheless. I wish people knew you could get an ad free YouTube experience on mobile. It also includes sponsor block so you really get straight to content. Also let’s you get a YT popup player and shutdown the screen with the video still playing.
- F-Droid an Android open source app market. Often includes apps that are not allowed on Google market.
Honestly, I respect their decision but at the same time I wonder why they didn’t create a standalone unfederated from the get go.
If you want to keep the community small and tightly nit it’s just not compatible with the federation system. Now people got invested in some beehaw communities only to end up disconnected from them.
Still, it’s not like there is a guide for this. We are all learning how to make the federation work. I hope we can keep it civil toward instances that choose to defederate.
We are all invested in the same thing: Making Lemmy successful.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
In the internal letter to their employees, spez said :
We absolutely must ship what we said we would.
The way I see it some promise has been done by spez and they definitely won’t change their minds.
Third party apps are just dead that’s just how it is.
