There’s definitely a period of transition. I didn’t expect to completely jump ship since I replied so heavily on reddit for community information and general news. However Lemmy does look really promising.

It checks all the boxes for me. No bots, no spam, mostly coherent adults, feels just like using reddit.

I hate to sound all hipster, but a super big community does typically end up ruining themselves. It’s nothing against the fandom itself or even the majority of people in it, it’s just that eventually more toxic people will be included as popularity increases.

That was my biggest gripe nearing the end of reddit and how all subs past 250k subs felt like they either became /r/pics, /r/videos, or /r/funny

Yea this app going dark for a month made me realize how much I actually enjoy the experience of this app rather than reddit itself. Being forced to use the official app has pushed me away from Reddit more than ever

What’s the point of really expensive hardware and hard to run games if only a small percentage of people can play them? It’s not just that PC parts are getting better, but devs are getting lazier regarding optimizations because they have more headroom than ever. We keep running into new problems like running out of VRAM or shader compilation stuttering. Long live the source engine that has spent more development time on optimizing than actually producing games.

It’s just social media being a retarded echo chamber of people who don’t get out much. The reality is most Christians AND atheists don’t give af about other’s beliefs; more occupied with living their own lives instead. Online has a lot of tribalism mentality.

It looks like a very old version of Android. Sync is much better in terms of adopting the new Material You design philosophy.
