Believing that we need to switch courses is a good first step. The other thing is that the policies he managed to get passed are moving geothermal in the right direction. I heard for the first time about ground source heat pumps because of his incentives for their installation.

There’s also funding for public transit, charging infrastructure for EVs, sunsetting incandescents, etc. It’s not perfect but it’s better than some asshole up there saying how the whole thing is a Chinese hoax and chanting drill baby drill.

Saying there is no patriarchy in a country where women couldn’t even vote until around a hundred years ago isn’t good faith debate. But you know that already and you’re just an idiot troll trying to be spicy and own the libs or whatever. 🙄 Go back to your cave.

I agree with Marc Maron in that I miss the old type of stupid, the self-aware type of stupid. Nowadays all of the idiots will scrawl out a complete rant about all the things they’re clueless about (i.e. most anything that requires any actual abilities, knowledge, or research) and try to pretend that they’re educating you in some way.

Oh well, guess we have to just try it some more and see if the results improve. /s

I just need one more round of CARES act funding bro. Just one last capital infusion and I’ll start to share the wealth bro. Just one more bailout bro. I swear I’ll play nice with the other bros bro. I’ll be a job creator, you’ll see bro.

This is how those “I work 12 hour days” CEOs used to do the math too. Only fair in my eyes.

California has the warn act which is supposed to mandate an employer to either provide notice or give 90 days compensation. It’s not always followed and not always applicable, but it’s similar to what you’re talking about.

In our case it’s slightly better for the employee though, because nobody can force you to continue working here. It’s customary to give two weeks though, and that’s generally followed so that you can use previous employers as a reference.

That varies depending upon state law. California has the warn act which gives you some rights if you’re let go as part of a large wave of layoffs.

I wish I shared your optimism. ChatGPT looks like a drop in replacement for some of the buzzword spouting VPs already but I wouldn’t hold my breath because they’ve been using it as an excuse to get rid of the rank and file instead.
