I hope you sent this to Jim as well, especially the “fuck you fuck you fuck you” texts :che-laugh:

Capitalist Realism was for me quite a depressing read so it’s reassuring that it actually helped someone on the path to the grill. It’s definitely true that the doomscroll impulse can’t be simply avoided, it needs to be replaced with as you say, empowerment, agency, and community. I’m curious how you initially leaped over that seemingly infinite gap?
It’s also nice to see that someone who managed to actually start doing praxis remembered their poster roots. I can imagine for many people who succeed in logging off, they would need that categorical ban, so to another poster it looks like nobody succeeds because our only interface is posts. Now shoo! Back out into the world with you! We’ll join you when we’re ready. o7

I can’t really be mad at this. Parents joke all the time about feeling like personal assistants. Even before technology, it takes 20+ years for most people to understand that their parents are just some random guys.
I still have to contend with all the things everyone else has to do and recognizes as shitty but somehow get done while I just suck ass at everything.
I don’t have any advice, but I want to say that this really resonated with me.
