I like the sentiment, but picking Napoleon is a bit ironic given that he was very much on the wrong side of history.
It was fueled, as always, by white people.
Looking purely at vote counts, he isn’t wrong. Trump lost about 3 million votes compared to 2020, whereas the Dems lost 15 million. There’s certainly a lot of blame to lay at the feet of “both sides bad” people who didn’t vote, but either way that’s catastrophically bad turnout for the Dems.
People staying home instead of voting against Trump is what cost Democrats the election. I hope the smug “both sides” folks here and elsewhere enjoy what’s coming to them in the next four years.
There is one mega-union (the only permitted one) with officials appointed by the CCP. It’s essentially a sham, like the non-CCP parties in Congress that are nominally a type of opposition but can never hold any real power.
And yes, it is ironic and sad. Nordic countries are more communist than China is. China doesn’t even have truly free healthcare like Canada etc.
Hilarious. The MAGA movement is like a fractal of grifts.
All three were also subtler and more skillful writers than Atwood – Butler in particular is criminally underappreciated. Her stories were far ahead of their time, exploring ideas about race and gender in a way that really makes you think rather than bludgeoning you with it. She should be a household name.
