Just be careful about it becoming full on limerence. A random crush is nothing to worry about, as that is just something that happens. You also might just be excited to have met a new friend and are only really noticing it because they are a woman. Which you are tripping over yourself to not to come off as a de-gen. Not a bad thing of course, but can be awkward if you go too far out of your way with it. Just try to treat them like you would your regular friends and other people you already interact with (or how you would like to be treated for that matter). And like others have said, you are beating yourself up.

There are a lot of books that don’t have (and likely not going to have) audiobook versions. So there is some use for getting better text to speech with the extra stuff an AI could add. And of course have accessibility options that don’t have such robotic sounding with bad pronunciation.

That being said, shit is about profits first and the other stuff is not the focus. While I would love to listen to some books with the voice of the authors (or even could be neat to hear voices of podcasters I like read them). I would rather hear hear them read by people that either just really like it as a hobby or wanting to practice voice acting if the authors/podcasters aren’t in control of their voice an AI is using. Which reminds me that I should check LibriVox for some non-official audiobooks that I want to read but am too busy to do so.

The mom making a point to bring up the hand on the gun part was a good one to make on the vid. The pig may not have their hand actively gripping the handle, but they are trying to heavily imply that they can end you at anytime. It is illegal to be a regular citizen with a concealed carry and make a point to flash your gun to someone in many places. As it is both a threat and an escalation if the other person isn’t a deadly threat all ready. The implication of what might happen if the other person doesn’t bow down (even if that person is completely in the right and the person with the gun is completely wrong or was the instigator). All shows of power to generate fear and submission. The not talking and just standing there also is them just trying to freak the mom and son out. All of it is aided by the pig being able to hide their face and eyes, while at the same time feeling like they are “soooo fucking badass” ego-tripping.

While I really really don’t want it to be Covid. I sometimes really wish that my entire department would all catch something that would mean we all were sick enough to be down for like a few days. As it would be a real treat to have a shock to the leadership of our store see how fucked they are without us. The reason I want us to be sick is that it is the only way they couldn’t do anything against us legally and I am somehow always like the only person that never calls out and just feel I am punished for never doing so. I never stopped working when the massive shutdowns happened and somehow have not caught Covid even when people around me have. But even though I kept coming in, I always somehow find myself on management’s shit list for being late a bunch or seen as somehow not “being a team player.”

The only leader that has my back is my direct one and that is because she was in the shit with me since before all of this and wasn’t my boss. So I also include her in wanting to be not allowed to come in due to being sick. The GM and other folks always think we don’t do enough (even when we are overloaded and they still try to pull us away from our appointments and fulfilling promises that customers were sold). I would absolutely love for them to try and give us any write-ups or anything if we were all verified to be too sick to work.

Just knowing that they wouldn’t have anyone that is allowed or trained to do our jobs and have to actually deal with our asshole entitled clients would make me happy. And it would be very easy to use it as an example for what a walk-out could do if needed later on for those that aren’t on team “let’s do a union” vibe.

I am glad that I started listening to Trillbilly Worker’s Party podcast to learn that she isn’t some pure angel like she is always painted. She has obviously put in waaaaaaay more work to get from nothing to something compared to many rich people/celebs. But the pedestal she is always placed on really blinds people to things she doesn’t seem to care about. Sometimes people like her are actually far worse on the working class and poor because they happened to have “won” and therefore the others just need to be working harder. But they never seem to want to actually be part of breaking that cycle of abuse. She may have been one of us back in the day, but she hasn’t been one of us in a long time.

All tips are supposed to be taxed. That being said, every single one of my friends that have worked jobs that are primary tip-based would mention that they would hide some amount of the cash tips. This was to avoid taxes, and for the most part my friends would claim most of their cash tips while mentioning that if they were having a bad week or day they might hide more. I have been in restaurant and other service jobs which I was paid normal rates due to being either technically BOH or otherwise not a tip expected job. So in those cases I wouldn’t claim a random tip I would get since it was never more than $20. Also the servers didn’t have to split anything with BOH since BOH was paid at least $6.50/hr back in 2003 (which was like a dollar or so more than state/national min wage) and the servers were something like $2/hr or so with tips being of course the main source. Though they would give some to those of us that bused their tables quickly on busy nights to get them ready for a new person/group.

But I think that tipping should be completely something that is to show that the worker was in your opinion just worth more than whatever they made the time you interacted with them. As the idea of a tip (IMO) is just that, a more personal sign of appreciation for their labour even if they are being paid like any other worker. And yes, I believe that holds true for stuff like strippers or any other currently legal sex worker (and same goes for prostitutes if made legal and officially taxed).

I am from NC, and not the most high income areas while not being in the lowest either. But $30/hr is almost twice what I make in my non-tip-based job (I am at a pay-cap of $19.48/hr). That sounds like shit I wouldn’t start to see unless I climbed the latter a lot to get (and completely stop doing the actual stuff I am any good at). So I am guessing $30/hr where they are planning to open must be like getting less than $10/hr where I am when adjusting for living costs and all that. Otherwise it seems like a real strange hill to die on when it isn’t like the people coming into the place won’t still do it if the servers are just doing really well. Idk. I stand with the workers no matter what they do, but if they lose the $30/hr for tips-based and the people that come in do what so many do (which is just lord over the worker). Then it would be a real motherfucker.

Seems that his own words should mean that the Dems should actually be doing everything possible to help third parties elevated. If he and the Dems really and truly cared about stopping the very party that they constantly say is both fascist and overall evil/threat to freedom. Then they should be actively push through full access of at least the Green Party. Which they don’t want, even if it means constantly moving to the right. Fuck them and their fake concern and fear mongering. They show their true colours by how they reacted to the Trump shooting. If he is truly the “biggest threat to actual freedom” then they should have said nothing at the very least.

I am now picking up on the bit now that you are pointing it out (my dumbfuck ass missed the obvious tells lol). So I responded initially with my very basic attempt at working with socdems, which is also dumb the more I think about it. Though I do personally believe that getting more normie people to un-register for either party and be unaffiliated would be interesting to see how they responded to it. I am deleting my post as I would for sharing an Onion article without seeing where it was from. lol

I am in NC and can only hope that leftists start getting extra extra stocked up and strapped up. If a real new Civil War 3 (I stand with the idea that the Blair Mountain suppression of workers counts as CW2), then it would be a real good time to make autonomous socialist zones. Maybe even a mix of various systems (anarchist/socialist/communist) that agree to work together based on which seems to have the most support in that area. Lot of space to try lots of things. But this is all just a thought experiment without real idea about anything past that. …Also parody. lol
