I chuckled, because I am 100% a tea snob with strong opinions on how my tea should be made even though I also believe you like what you like. Exaggerating my opinions for laughs brings me joy IRL. It didn’t come off as serious to me.

A heads up if you start making it yourself that you don’t want boiling water with white tea, it will burn it/make it bitter. It is delicious though!

In my experience a skein is a specific type of wound wool. It’s looped and then twisted and folded over. You can’t knit from a skein, you have to reball it first.

Seasons 4 & 5 of Voyager are ita strongest. When it was still airing and in the final season I got my first job and bought a bunch of vhs tapes to record the newest season as it aired, and I started ‘best of’ tapes from reruns. They were dominated by those two seasons.

I don’t like milk in my tea (my go to black tea is earl grey) because it takes away from the flavour. But I love chai. So the trick for me is just that the tea just needs a good brew in the milk, not just the water (also I guess, adding more spices to it is also necessary).

But my earl grey? I had to stop using sugar because it sets off my acid reflux, so now I use maple syrup :D

Also, boats! I was very disappointed when Warcraft 3 removed the boat warfare. I thoroughly enjoyed that.

It’s at the non-profits too. My work turned around suddenly in November claiming there was no money/funding for the work that had already been approved and highly praised. Gas lighting. Turning (or trying to) turn our colleagues against us. Yelling and crying (I kid you not, I was horrified at the time). Calling us disrespective and divisive (because we were trying to fix access/health and safety issues and had not only been given the go ahead, it was incorporated into our strategic plan in the summer and our boss repeatedly said that funding wasn’t an issue at the time).

Cue 3 weeks later in our AGM, where the auditors come in to talk about the financials.

“We have to be careful not to give the illusion that we’re hoarding money because we have so much in the bank”.

All because my bosses feelings were fucking hurt and she’s the definition of a fragile neo-liberal white lady who thinks she’s a radical leftist.

(We’ve now been in mediation for three months, surpriiiiise, lol. And I have lawyers on hand in case they don’t get their heads out of their asses, which seems more and more likely as time goes by becauze they broke labour law and my province’s human rights code)

I remember hearing/reading at some point that they wanted to make her a re-occurring character, but it got kiboshed by the network because of the costs of doing the low-grav scenes or some other bs.

Little (and current me) loved that episode. They didn’t get everything “right” but it still had some steong disability ideals, and that representation of not trusting why people are wanting to help you is so real, because sometimes they really are infantalizing you for no reason and you have to be so firm to get it to stop.

A side note though: a friendly heads up that a lot of people these days prefer to be referred to as wheelchair users instead of being wheelchair-bound. The idea being that mobility devices give freedom, and without them that’s when you’re bound to a place.

(Edit: I guess if you don’t count the kinky wheelchair users the other issue is that nobody is literally bound to their chairs :D)

Yeah, the gait analysis is where I am truly fucked because I’m visibly disabled (and have gone to protests where i have been threatened with arrest, but evaded so far). I have been thinking about using my wheelchair at more protests though, so that might be able to fuck it up in the future.

Or everyone just needs to stick a rock in their shoe, or wear one shoes that has a bit of a platform.
