fluke
The reason why this technique is preferred over simply checking your mirror is for a few reasons.
Simply checking your mirror doesn’t catch blind spots.
It’s a good habit for passengers where the mirror isn’t going to adjusted for them at a glance.
And if you do happen to miss a cyclist coming, you can’t swing your door out into them because the way you’re reaching across prevents them being door’d. It allows for a slower and more telegraphed opening.
They keep thinking that they pulled a fast one on us by dumping all that tea in the river, but it was our plan to get the world’s largest brew going.
Joke’s on them. We have plenty more.
Actually it would be interesting if it was something that was directly related to the wet weather tyres.
So they come already attached to the wheels as a spec part and not permanently attached to the car.
I would argue that the set up of the car is affected anyway when putting on wets due to the increase of ride height and such. And with the corner speeds being slower it likely wouldn’t cause that much of an issue.
May be a disctraction from a more ‘serious’ offensive action somewhere else on the front to split Russian attention and resource.
Seemed to work to a degree, I think I understood that the Russians threw a counter-attack at them (which failed) and towards the middle of the video they sent in some artillery.
This just goes to show that the Russians know exactly what they’re doing. What good tactics, good equipment and training looks like. But they decide not to (or no longer able to) provide even a percentage of this to most of their troops.
Unfortuantely for the Russians, soldiers of this level and capability are far too few and far between to make any difference at all to their war. It’s just unlucky for the Ukrainians that get caught out if they were to turn up in their AO. You can see a couple of what appears to be textbook ambushes.
This is probably the footage that is being shown all over the Russian propaganda space and why many are so confident in their claims that ‘they’ are winning/going to win while they clutch to their minor victories as irrefutable evidence (Bakhmut and a handful of Leopards and Bradleys).
I hope that when Putin falls so does the Potato Prince.
Whilst the chances are that Russia will continue with another flavour of far right/facist leader who grabs the power, there is actually quite a strong sentiment against the Luka regime as I understand it. Supposedly they’re not too keen on Russia at the moment. So with hope there may be a chance for the people of Belarus to get a taste of European democracy when he topples.
Utter nonsense news story simply designed to get people rolled up about how dangerous AI. The same with Vidya games or TV or comics or any other rubbish.
There are problems and challenges and issues that this current generation of AI will bring up and will need to be solved. But to pretend that it overtook the agency of an actual human being is fucking rediculous and the rag ought to be ashamed of themselves. Fuck me.
Yes. I’m in a particularly bad mood tonight…
