Hey, y’all! Just another random, loudmouthed, opinionated, Southern-fried nerdy American living abroad.
I’m moving off kbin to lemmy, so I won’t be posting from here (unless kbin social gets it together).

It’s still fresh, is this thing. Mastodon was like that for a while; there was a lot of talk of twitter and angry posts and Elon Musk. People were still hurt and angry. It takes a while to work through that, so there’s likely going to be a lot of talk about it for a while. But it’ll stop on its own as people start moving on.
but the way Huffman tells it, Apollo has less than 5% of the install base of the official app on iOS. If that’s the case I don’t really understand his argument that they’re bleeding Reddit dry.
I saw this as an explanation, and it’s so stupid it makes perfect sense
And the episode Elementary My Dear Data where the ship created a completely self-aware program in the holodeck that started to take the ship over just because Geordi accidentally asked for an opponent that could challenge Data, not Sherlock Holmes.
Data really could have wrecked everybody’s shit if he had actually wanted to.
…I really, really have some questions for the one person who downvoted this.
The Mass Effect trilogy (I consider it one game) - no matter how many times I play it, it still feels fresh.
Yeah, the email thing keeps getting repeated but doesn’t actually make sense when you think about how people use the fediverse.
I think it as more of as being like what kind of device you use to watch subscriptions. Are you picking a tablet or a smart TV to watch Netflix or Hulu? The device is kbin or lemmy. What communities/magazines you interact with is is like the service. All of them can access the service if you’ve subscribed. You don’t need a Hulu device or a Netflix device, just a device.
