longtime reddit user myself (since 2007ish?), trying to ditch reddit because I cant stand the official way to access it & with all of the impending changes it’s good to leave early. today is day1 of lemmy for me. it looks like an interesting platform - especially the decentralized aspect of it.
happy cake day, @RadDevon
twitter was overvalued. reddit has made a lot of questionable business decisions over the last decade or so but their recent API change will be their death knell. it feel like a cash grab. I personally only use Twitch to watch Bob Ross reruns :P

instead of $$$, give them food & items. giving money just leads to grift/theft
so someone is stealing the MREs and reselling them?
canadian govt really needs a more active forest service - letting it get out of hand like this is a bit ridiculous.
“hate” means a lot of different things to different people, largely depending on their ideology. reddit as a whole was always very left-leaning and anything that was the opposite of that got the banhammer - even many moderate sites offended spez and they got disappeared, CIA style. from what I remember, TD was mostly a lot of memes - and there have been many, many other subreddits that are far more offensive than TD was. they often lasted for years, despite repeated calls to have them banned.
