Funny story about that movie. My husband reached about it for weeks. So I got on Facebook and found Seth Rogan’s page and wrote him an email at 3 am drunk ripping him a new one for making that movie because my husband had been relentless in his disappointment. I naturally assumed this would be an account run by a social media team.
It was not. He apologized and friended me. Nicest fucking guy. Got to see a glimpse into his life. He still heavily restricted who could see what he posted, but I still got to see things like wedding photos before they were published in the papers. I held onto my fb account for 2 extra years because I felt shitty about that email.
Oh the horror, bad American for wanting to support a developer as they launch a new product that is built on the premise of one they used and loved for years.
Instead of supporting a Dev who’s proved themselves, we should harbor deep skepticism and try to skate by on a free product for as long as possible because that $5 is really, really, super, duper gonna break the bank if the app isn’t absolutely everything I want it to be.
No, there’s a free version. With about 1/100, the ads the official Reddit app has.
I wouldn’t demand a haircut for free, or commission a painting for free, or ask someone to a fancy restaurant, then demand we go Dutch.
Sync has a developer who I chose to compensate for their work. I would’ve done the same for connect. I would like people to get compensated for the work they do. It’s great to get something for free, but I am not entitled to their free labor.
But somethings are worth paying for.
And this is what it is for me.
The customization on sync gets me so damn close to what I had with relay that I’m just happy.
I used others, but they were heavily inspired by Apollo and the customization to make them closer to my muscle memory wasn’t there. I’m happy to pay a talented developer who can give me my preferred experience.
And I really don’t get this raging choosing beggar entitlement to people labor for free
