On June 14, Russia’s State Duma passed a bill banning surgical operations “aimed at changing a person’s sex” and changing one’s gender marker in legal documents in its first reading. During the session, multiple parties in the Duma vocally criticized the document. After Russia’s Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko criticised the law and supported the prohibition of “sex changes” -the term the Duma uses to describe gender transitions- solely based on a patient’s request and advocated stricter requirements for surgery and hormone therapy, but did not advocate a complete ban on gender transitions, Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin asked Murashko not to propose any amendments to the law. "We would like the Ministry of Health not to issue any amendments by the second reading, reasoning that it takes care of people. Care should be taken, if you will, by banning all this fornication,” Volodin said.

Dictatorship + “psychiatry and narcology institute” = prison to conduct unethical human experiments on an unwanted minority, probably for militar purposes (biological or chemical warfare)

Yeah. This is pretty much how mental hospitals looked like during the Nazi era. I was in one as a teen (Grafenberg), which was already active during that time and one of the workers there talked a bit about it and how it was used. Some auto translated articles from their websites (LVR is the regional organization under which they and other services operate within North Rhine Westfalia):

You can imagine how LGBT people would be treated in such an institution in a country like Russia.

This theory makes a lot of sense if you consider that Russia’s biggest problem is that losing the war might make their country cease to exist completely. But even so, their problems are training, cultural and logistics based, no amount of biological weapons are going to fix their problems; though they probably wouldn’t admit that even to themselves.

Yeah that’s the pipe dream people are pushing now. Somehow Russia will collapse because of this war

This is very alarming. There is no doubt that there are going to be human rights violations perpetually. Is it going to be a forced stay or voluntary? Horrible experimentation is going to be done here.

In Russia, it’s a forced “voluntary” stay. They force you to stay, but they tell you (and all the people keeping an eye on this) that it’s voluntary.

They have a lot in common. You could say they are allies these days.

@Gradually_Adjusting given the fact that tankies would still see Russia as a reliable ally against the supposed Western imperialism even after this, that would not be far from truth.

Yes they are like a shining beacon to fascists worldwide on “how to do it”. Now the GOP may have just been conservatives, but they are being turned to fascism by some elements.

In my country the far-right even had a written “agreement of cooperation” with them to “advance their causes”. They only stopped openly doing that since 2022, but 100% they still parrot Putin talking points. This was public knowledge (as well as their repeated corruption) and yet people STILL vote them in even bigger numbers, because their “distract with hate and fear” games work so well.
