Gorbachev gets a spot but Stalin doesn’t. They include Mao and Lenin. Under philosophers, they ignore obvious choices like Plato, Nietzsche, [Marx is relegated to “cultural icon”], and really anyone but Buddha, Confucius, and Aristotle for people who are conventionally seen in the west as “philosophers”.
