These people probably overlap quite heavily with the anti-vax people; it is their kids and all other people around them that are harmed.
Yes. The perpetration of harm is the only reason we can’t just let it sort itself out. I agree.
That image of the kid holding up the “I want my raw milk” sign; it makes me sad for her. She is just trying to follow her basic needs, fitting in with your family / tribe. She doesn’t yet have the ability to critically examine the evidence.
Though it does give me a reminder of a very cool story from a few years ago. A small group of students 16yo’s in Wellington, went and got their vaccines, their parents were antivax. Their parents hit the fucken roof when they found out…public opinion was almost 100% on side of the kids.
I want my cream pasteurized, but I wish I had the option to buy pasteurized, instead of ultra pasteurized. I really value not getting sick, but the process that ultra pasteurized cream goes through makes it impossible to make clotted cream.
Oh boy, every time we visit the states I forget that the milk has that funky ultra pasteurised taste to it.
Having just normal pasteurised would be great.

I have to buy “specialty” breads from bakeries because grocery store bread so frequently has the worst, softest, blandest texture.
As for putting sugar in everything, the thing I hate most is lemonade. Citrus without tartness is sugar water! I despise it!
I had clotted cream growing up and I went to buy some and wasn’t surprised I couldn’t find it. So I decided to make my own and that’s when I realized all the cream on the shelves is ultra pasteurized! It breaks down the bonds in the cream and makes clotting impossible!
You have to bake the cream to make it clot anyway… so frustrating that this choice has been taken from me. I can pay an entire fortune to get it shipped to me, or I could find a “raw milk” person and I don’t want to give them business. Also I don’t want to get sick! So frustrating!
Yeah ultra pressurized milk makes shit foam for a cappuccino. The extra heat breaks down large sugars.

It’s so not worth the trouble of, you know… dying and all.
To me, this is yet another example of a poor education. We need to end private vouchers and make sure the money we actually spend goes to our public schools and put a stop to the homeschooling and publicly funded private institutions allowed to peddle misinformation on our dime.
