No, but it’s a step in the right direction to rolling back Web 2.0 and the utter shitshow it’s turned into.

Open protocols and no single company in charge is like IRC, newsgroups and so on, before we traded it all in for a nicer UI and handing all our data to future billionaires.

It needs to be able to evolve though. IRC could have become Discord, but we just abandoned it. Watch that do the same as everyone else over the next few years, as all those venture capitalists start asking for their money back.

I’ve given up trying to keep track of all these schemes.

Each one filled with more pie-in-the-sky nonsense that will never pass, all so the government of the day can go “well, we tried, but Elitist Technoboffins and Openly Gay Olympic Fencers won’t let us.”

Same with this Rwanda immigrant crap.

Twitchel.

I love how many words we’ve got for this. Great way of spotting outsiders.

Used to practically live down the twitchels as a kid, playing dobby.

Then go home for a chip cob.

I went to north Wales for a holiday back in 1990-something and it only rained once.

Nice to see it’s still going.

I think there was some aquarium type thing in Rhyl. Use to be a Sealife Centre, but they’ve rebranded now. Probably rubbish, but kids aren’t that picky.

I also fell down the stairs at Caernarfon Castle. You could try that. Anything’s better that being stuck in bloody Prestatyn.

I’ll put money on out of date OS and lack of budget for any kind of upgrades.

I’ve just filtered my incoming bug reports by people still running Windows XP. Almost all of them are pharmacies. You tell them to upgrade, and that they’re not PCI-DSS compliant. For 9 years.

The rest of the NHS is likely even worse.

Sad thing about IT security, it’s one of those things that costs money and you don’t see the benefits. Only the catastrophic failures.

Chances are they use some internal sites that only work in IE. Could even be using some Java Applet or ActiveX plugin that hasn’t been patched in 15 years.

Even Chrome abandoned everything pre-Windows 10 earlier this year. I reckon there’s more machines than not that couldn’t upgrade OS even if they wanted to.

I think Wales is one of those things like Skegness or Blackpool. It’s more for natives than it is for somebody to fly a thousand miles to see.

It’s nice and all, and fairly unique within the UK, but it’s not that unique internationally. Most countries have a nice nature-y hilly bit. They don’t all have a bunch of soldiers with silly hats that pass out in summer.
