Agreed. “Losing” Reddit was and is still painful, but I’m more and more convinced that it was necessary. Both in general and for me as a person. I’m going to try to get back into reading and other oldschool, ‘slower’ stuff. Modern internet has been poisoning our brains for like half a decade at the very least.
At this point I’m convinced that ALL of Reddit had become compromised. It’s been that way for at least three years, possibly longer.
Let’s face it: whenever there’s a point (online or irl) where millions upon millions of people would congregate to exchange ideas and discourse - ESPECIALLY anti-establishment rethoric - that point was going to be a frontline for the clash of ideologies.
And we all know which ideology has all the capital and elects to co-op everything, including criticism against itself.
Thanks! I don’t really mind either way, but I already have a roo (his/her father) so I’m kinda hoping for a hen, that way I’m more sure they’ll get along. If it does turn out to be a roo though, he’ll go live with my parents who are currently roosterless.
I reared my current roo by hand as well and he’s an absolute sweetheart.
I own both cats and snakes and people never believe me when I say the cats do much more damage to me than the snakes (even though they do bite from time to time).
Still happy to let them sleep in my bed (the cats, not the snakes).
