Because the alternative route is suggestive instead of suggested.

suggestive

adjective

often used to describe something that makes people think about sex:

Some of his lyrics are rather suggestive.

If we’re being kind, the soldier with the grenade believes the propaganda that the Ukrainians “kill and cut” wounded and PoWs and the grenade is for his own suicide. Especially as his own side has recorded themselves doing just that (killing and cutting PoWs).

If we’re being unkind, the other PoW is leading the Ukrainian into an ambush.

This is why sometimes soldiers are taught when searching a dead body to lie on top of/next to it and roll it over so it is a shield if there is a booby trap underneath. Not sure I’d fancy doing it for real, though. I’d prefer a hook and rope to drag it over from a safer distance.

Probably along the same lines as the Austrian Rotax engines (they are plentiful, commercially available and stolen).

They don’t want to release the bodies because it would help confirm the exact circumstances of the boys’ deaths. Like returning soldiers bodies in a decomposing state to hide torture.

It’s also more expensive (which I guess is our problem, not the Ukrainian’s)

The US is expected to provide Dual-purpose improved conventional munition (DPICM) which, according to the Wikipedia article

as of 2014 many were reaching the end of their useful life and required disposal

So like many weapon donations (see Storm Shaddow) they are already paid for, end of life weapons that were unlikely to be used in anger.

TLDR: You have to decide early where your limits are or you’ll be overrun before you can react.

I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an after-work beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you. So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, “no. get out.”

And the dude next to me says, “hey i’m not doing anything, i’m a paying customer.” and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, “out. now.” and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed

Anyway, I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, “you didn’t see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them.”

And i was like, ohok and he continues.

"you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it’s always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don’t want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after a while they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.

And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it’s too late because they’re entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.

And i was like, ‘oh damn.’ and he said “yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people.”

It was eye-opening. I was very happy I was there to witness/get the explanation.
