That’s one of the main draws of socialism and communism for me. Doing shit because you want to do it, not because you have to. Automate everything nobody wants to do.

Years ago I’ve read a brilliant short story about an American immigrant moving to socialist post-scarcity Australia. I tried finding it again many times, but never could. From what I remember it showed the mental transition really well.

Coffee was never too bad for me, beer on the other hand is pure hell.

Like, okay, even if I BLATANTLY ran it I can’t even justify 200 fucking dollars for it.

In my third world country that would cost you at least twice as much, and you’d also lose your licence for at least 3 months.

But on the other hand the traffic cams won’t record you unless all 4 of your wheels were in front of the traffic lights when they turned red.

OP: I’ve tried mint tea, what other drink do you suggest?

You: if you want an interesting cocktail, try a mix of ayahuasca and peyote.

The whole Kosovo thing was about creating military bases on Kosovo and smuggling Afghan heroin from Turkey into Europe. They slowly started pulling out of Kosovo after they pulled out of Afghanistan, but Albanians took that as an opportunity to even more blatantly break treaties, and Serbs started getting riled up because on top of all the bullshit they’re also occasionally getting shot at in the streets. So now USA is sending in some NATO big shots to do something (probably prove that shooting at Serbs is genocide against Albanians or some other bs).

Don’t forget that Ubuntu was the first distro to both sell user data to Amazon, and show you ads in the terminal. But it seems like everyone forgets about it as soon as canonical goes “whoops, our bad, we didn’t think you’d mind, it’s opt in/out now”.

On top of that I’ve seen allegations that they’re illegally collecting data from Azure Ubuntu users to send them spam about Ubuntu enterprise.

Is it the same system that created omnipresent and blatant corruption Xi’s been purging locally for the last decade?

I say locally because exploitation and cultivation of corruption is still the basis for their relations with developing countries.
