There is some momentum but it seems very weak compared to, say, RIF or Firefox. I think the app would feel nicer if scrolling deep pages was a little easier.

Lmao oops I didn’t even realize it was a Google+ thing. I kinda forgot Google+ was a thing, tbh.

Coming from RIF, I have been using Jerboa and it’s starting to grow on me. There’s definitely a lot of work to do, but it’s exciting to see the app get better over time as the devs work hard on it.

I took a few days to get my bearings in the app, but I am now at the point where I compulsively open Jerboa instead of RIF.

It’s hard to not want Jerboa to be “just like RIF” and instead let it be its own thing. But then you realize that Lemmy isn’t limited to just being a “Reddit replacement” and has potential to be something even better. It feels like being a frontier settler.

I already know RIF is gone. I’m operating on the assumption that old.reddit will be gone soon.

Even with old.reddit, you still get karma bots and rampant native advertising and corporate bullshittery that I won’t miss.

I’m ready to cast off reddit and forge ahead to the next platform, even if I know the journey will be a bit rocky at first.

I had forgotten how nauseating corporate doublespeak can be. This can’t be for employees. I cannot fathom how any competent professional would actually this seriously.

They might be installed backwards. I think some frosted glass is designed to act similar to a one-way mirror. So they’re probably inside thinking that the glass is practically opaque.

Don’t worry. As an American, I don’t entertain the thought of calling an ambulance for anything less than life threatening.
