Holy crap! She was “saving up” to buy a condo instead of using that money to pay off the credit cards? That’s absolutely insane. I really feel like society would benefit immensely if there were mandatory financial literacy courses every 4 years, or at least before any major purchases (house, car, etc).

We came to visit Russia as tourists

Boy, my sympathy went to 0 pretty damn fast. Might as well have said they went to Nazi Germany as tourists.

Yeah, I want to see the TST’s tenets up there next to the commandments. That ought to stimulate some interesting discussions.

For those not familiar,

One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one’s own.

Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.

People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one’s best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

Aren’t these the same investors that recently decided that that $56 billion package was reasonable? Do they even listen to themselves?

Been using Linux as my primary OS for (counts on fingers)… decades now. Called them folders the whole time. Never had a problem with it. Nobody who matters cares.

On Friday, New York Supreme Court Judge Robert Reed, a Democrat, ordered Mr Trump to repay the New York Times for fees incurred by his failed legal action.

Asked Ordered

Who the hell wrote that headline?

researchers designed a model that could generate 753 MWh of energy annually. That’s enough to power roughly 753 homes for about five weeks

Why can’t the writers of these articles make useful comparisons? Can they just not do basic math? Each tower can generate enough electricity for about 72 homes… period. Just say that. No apples and oranges required.

I don’t understand why so many people can’t just go get their own damn food. Uber eats hasn’t been around long enough for you all to have forgotten what you did before, has it? How did you survive back then?

In the photos, the tall, geometric figure reflects the rocky desert and perfectly aligns with the horizon.

Ummmmm, that’s the photographer that did that. 🙄

Please don’t perpetuate this myth. He was tried, and found guilty, for falsifying business records to cover up payments that he made for purposes that many of his voters would find objectionable in order to hide that objectionable information from those voters to prevent them from making an informed decision and affecting an election.
