I’ve seen several of these articles over the past few months. Someone is pushing hard to make self checkout seem bad. If it wasn’t for self checkout I’d absolutely hate the grocery store. Lines fucking suck. Self checkout is a more efficient line because it usually feeds many machines, rather than being 1-1. Not only that but I can do self checkout in about half the time it takes any normal cashier to check me out. I know exactly the stuff I picked up, exactly the way I want it in bags, and exactly the order I need to do things in.

The majority of illegal immigration into the US has nothing to do with walking across borders anywhere. It’s people overstaying their visas, and they got to the US on a plane. The whole Republican thing about immigrants marching across the borders is one of the most fantastical stories they’ve made up to make democrats look bad.

No, it’s not the generic “pregnant person” emoji, it’s explicitly a “pregnant man” emoji. It’s technically a “man emoji” a “pregnant emoji” and a combining mark. That’s what allows the skin colors and flags to work as well.

All cars struggle in extreme cold. Not just electric cars. That’s literally why people use engine heaters in cold climates.

Yeah that person should go out into the countryside and see if those employees “don’t complain about tipping”. I know I sure did.

DDG is worse, at least anecdotally. But kagi is much better. Looks like the researchers didn’t study that one though so no “proof”, but anecdotally I completely stopped using Google for search.

I mean, kagi is great. I too got frustrated with the shittiness of DDG and others like ecosia. Paying for a search engine sounds crazy but I’m not going back. Google’s results are absolutely terrible compared to kagi so 🤷‍♀️

On Macs you can just use command left and right. Reuse keys so I get more 😬

I haven’t used literally any of the keys in this photo for years

I must be in the minority. I haven’t used any of these keys in over a decade. Probably more like 15 years at this point. Command + something can replace almost all of these, so why waste an extra key on it.

You joke, but my caps lock on my laptop keyboard is mapped to command and if I double tap it and hold it’s my hyper key. On my crkbd keyboard if I hold a it’s option and semicolon is control. I have quite a lot of keys like this. It’s very efficient.
