I think it’s because labs and golden retrievers are the golden haired family dogs for the “tradition white suburbanite family” it has ties to racism and nationalism.

I think Afghanistan and USA should partly merge cultures and red states inexplicably begin keeping dogs outside.
They already do that, my neighbor’s dog comes over every day to get water and treats and a/c and to hide from rain
