This is supposed to be a sort of museumpost, like it can be nice to look back.
China used to be a controversial topic. There were always people who held the Correct Opinion, but it wasn’t something that had a general consensus on the site.

Also… fuck, has it been 4+ years this place has been around? My sense of time is turbo fucked…
Back in my days we used to post ppb links and emojis to wreckers and the Silver Legion because we didn’t have this new fangled images in comments tech. (we did but for only like the first week or so)

We’d hide a picture of John Kerry in the pigs ass crack, as was the fashion at the time
I got here about a year after the site was created and as a result I missed all the silver legion stuff and for the longest time I thought the silver legion stuff was a reference to the Silver Legion of America, aka the Silver Shirts, an American esoteric fascist organization that was active in the lead up to ww2.
Most of these are graveyards of deleted comments :(
Would really, really love to read this stuff in it’s full proper form…
Please note that I am in many of these threads and my take is always flawless
Hell yeah, that thread was great. Early chacha was much more like r/cth politically, meaning it was more demsoc and anarchist than the 90% ML space it is today. So I’d say that was an extremely productive struggle session.
Yeah it was fun looking thru those old threads too. Fun to see how the vibe has changed. It must be nice to always have been correct
edit: some things never change though
“So you’re saying you don’t think the cultural revolution happened?”
“What??”
