I fear with a lack of a mobile app, kbin isn’t going to catch on right now. I’m signed up at both kbin and Lemmy, and while kbin seems superior - I’m more inclined to use Lemmy right now because of the jarboa app.

Oh, that is good news! I can see Kbin being the next Digg>Fark>Reddit iteration with a working app and 3rd party app support. I’ll check back soon. Thanks for the link.

Is there any chance that a certain threshold of down arrows can auto-hide or auto-prune entries as the platform becomes more user heavy?

This is the point that needs to be conveyed. Not every comment requires a full engagement of conversation. A quick up/down vote to show agreement is all that’s needed and we shouldn’t require unnecessary fluff.

Additionally, having a log of people’s liked comments sounds like an incredible source of abuse for people scraping user data…

Jerboa works for kbin?

Oh, I didn’t realize. Confusing…

There should really be some identifier in kbin so I can tell if users are on the same platform or not…

And for those who don’t use kbin on a computer?

Agreed. I replied to a post in a Lemmy instance about an app earlier, and had no idea they were taking about Lemmy until corrected.

I think they meant kbin. We only just started seeing federated posting, so it’s catching lots of us by surprise when people are responding from, and about, other instances.

Thanks for this. Is it possible to change the color of the home instance to be more noticeable? Also I think the “@” is being dropped from the replace.

I assume its would need to be in this line, but it’s been 20 years since I coded anything and have no idea what script language this is.

var homeinstance2 = homeinstance.replace( “/u/@” + myname + “@” , ‘’);
