I do have another question I’ve been thinking about, yeah. It’s more for everyone, I’m not singling you out. When you make popcorn at home, do you heat up some butter and pour it on it and shake it up, or do you just add salt and eat it without extra butter?
I find that buttering homemade popcorn is a hassle that leads to a soggy kernels if you aren’t careful, I usually just add some fine popcorn salt to the frying oil before throwing the unpopped kernels in, imo that’s really all you need
so the problem with butter is that it has water content, so you’re inherently sogging your popcorn if you do that. clarified butter or ghee are good dairy solutions, and coconut oil is similar to what you’d get in a theater.
Usually all of my butter fills up my bathtub, but if I eat popcorn while bathing I will dip it in.

Get a microwave silicon bowl made specifically for popcorn. It has fill lines and everything.

Pop in microwave until you can count 1 second between pops.

Separately, heat up 3 - 5 tbsp of ghee.

Pour ghee on popcorn. Shake.

I use a vegan ‘butter flavoured’ substitute oil as I managed to find some restaurant stuff for cheap (not because but because it makes it a lot easier to make in a pot). I’m used to popcorn in a neutral vegetable oil with just salt.

Can I ask why? They’ve only been in like a handful of threads and those are only the ones on frontpage of /all/ under “active” sort. Like, 3 or 4 bans per day seems like practically nothing? In the last week there have been 17 bans and 6 of those are ban evaders unrelated to federation. 11 bans in 7 days seems really low impact.

Hello. I was pretty regular user of the original sub before it closed down. I avoided moving to Hexbear because I didn’t like the interface.
I’ve seen several people mention a similar thing about being on the old sub, and are now glad to reconnect with a big chunk of that community. If for no other reason, I think it’s awesome that federation has brought about a small kind of reunion of comrades.
